Richard Blanchar, MD is the Medical Director for Bayview General Medicine, in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida. He is well known and well respected in the community and was named Official Town Physician In 2003 & 2004.
He received a proclamation from the Town of Lauderdale By The Sea for his generosity, his humanitarian pursuits in medicine, and endless commitment to the citizens and visitors of the Town.
Dr. Richard Blanchar graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida and received his M.D. from the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He trained in Internal Medicine while specializing in Emergency Medicine.
Physicians are required to participate in at least 30 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) classes, Dr. Blanchar routinely completes over 150 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) each year.
Dr. Blanchar has served as an Emergency Department physician at several local hospitals where he gained extensive hands-on experience in emergency medicine and in family medicine. He has been practicing in Florida since 1983. Dr. Blanchar is a FAA Certified Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, as well as a United States Civil Surgeon.
In addition to his Family Practice, since the late 1990's, Dr. Blanchar began developing the cosmetic side of the practice and has become a nationally recognized presence serving on advisory panels with doctors such as Corey Moss, Neil Sadicke, Jean and Alistair Carruthers and others.
